Barco's new display wall controller steps up to dual-CPU, dual-core processing power

The new display wall controller combines dual-CPU, dual-core Intel® Xeon® Processor-based performance with increased input/output flexibility

Barco, a leader in display and visualization solutions for selected professional markets, announces the availability of the TransForm AX6 display controller, that builds on its current series of display wall controllers for video and data integration.

Display wall controllers are at the heart of control room setups and manage the visualization of information streams from multiple suppliers and multiple compression technologies on rear-projection video wall displays and LCD displays.

"Our TransForm A display controller series features an open architecture that provides ultimate scalability. The new AX6 brings cost-effective scalability for small and medium sized control room setups. said Ronny Dewaele, VP of Networked Control Systems at Barco's Security & Monitoring Division. Mr. Dewaele continued, "By integrating a redundant dual Gbit LAN on the processor board, combined with six extension slots, the AX6 allows us to meet our customers' requirements in terms of configuration flexibility, connectivity, reliability and cost.

The TransForm AX6 display controller runs on a dual-core Intel® Xeon® Processor platform with standard PCI-X bus, features a redundant onboard dual 10/100/1000 Mbit LAN interface and a redundant hot-swap power supply. Six extension slots allow to plug in Barco's TransForm A input and output cards, such as the company's new second-generation streaming video card (SVC-2). In addition, extended flexibility is offered through the use of the TransForm A OmniBus that provides a backbone to the graphic and video system.
