BAE SYSTEMS ACQUIRES SHARES IN PIPER GROUP
BAE SYSTEMS has acquired the shares of Piper Group, a provider of technology services.
The Piper Group has been a key partner to BAE SYSTEMS and the UK MOD in the development of the trilogi technologies, which provide secure browser and database software for access to a wide range of support information.
These technologies are now being deployed with the UK MoD and their key suppliers, following a contract signed in December 2002 between the UK Defence Logistics Organisation and BAE SYSTEMS' Customer Solutions & Support business.
BAE SYSTEMS' acquisition of the Piper Group, through the Operational Services arm of its Customer Solutions & Support business, will ensure that its capability in this important area is maintained.
Piper Group's 130 employees will continue to provide high levels of service to all customers from its Bristol base.
