Scanna are pleased to introduce the EL100, a pocket-sized explosives detection kit which provides a fast, reliable method of screening vehicles, bags, containers and people for trace amounts of explosives.
Developed in conjunction with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory the EL100 has since been distinguished as one of the hundred top technologies of the year.
The EL100 is a credit-card sized device that fits in the palm of your hand. It is self-contained, easy to use and tests for a wide range of explosives, including TNT, black powder, ammonium nitrate, RDX, Chlorates as well as plastic and liquid explosives with near instant results. More importantly the EL100 has none of the false positives on ordinary household chemicals that continue to be a problem with traditional explosives detection technology.
EL100 is designed as a "pay as you go" product with no expensive outlay on electronic hardware and no ongoing maintenance requirements or costs.
The EL100 uses a swipe card which is then inserted into its disposable test piece. The chemicals that react to explosives are self contained in the testpiece and so there is none of the hassle and wasted time associated with kits that use bottles, vials or droppers. This ease of use, combined with a fast colour reaction to explosives, makes EL100 the most straightforward and reliable explosives kit on the market.
Designed for police and military search teams, border patrols, security checkpoints and canine support teams, the size and simplicity of the EL100 puts a trace explosives detection capability in the pocket of every policeman or security officer.
