Portendo appoints Gunilla Savring as new CEO
Portendo's board of directors has appointed Gunilla Savring as the new CEO of the company. Portendo has, since the agreement with BAE Systems was initiated in 2008, heavily increased the market activities. In parallel, the development of the first product, the P.Eye, has progressed according to plan. Portendo aims to deliver the first products during the latter part of 2009 thereby providing new challenges for the company's organization and management.
Gunilla Savring has been the chairman of the board of Portendo since 2005 and her most recent position was VP of Marketing of Mitrionics AB in Lund, Sweden. Gunilla has long experience from management positions in several startups, e.g. Axis, SwitchCore and Precise Biometrics.
"Gunilla will add competence to the growth phase and has very good insight in what is required to lead the company. We are thrilled to have her at the steering wheel", says Pierre Strömbeck, VP of Engineering and co-founder of the company.
Gunilla Savring replaces Jan Werne who served as a consulting CEO since August 2008. As Gunilla Savring is appointed as CEO, Hans Mellström is elected as the new chairman of the board.
"We are in the process of securing a new round of financing of 15 MSEK for the company. With this capital injection, which will be used for finalizing our first products, the huge interest from the market and the announced changes in the company's management I see a very exciting future for Portendo", says Hans Mellström, Chairman of the board.
