Africa Aerospace and Defence 2004, the premium civil and military aerospace and defence-related exposition will be held at the Waterkloof Air Force Base from 21 - 25 September 2004.

This major event in the new millenium will again be hosted and presented by Armscor, CAASA amd the South African Air Force.

Although the SA Air Force will feature quite prominentaly, AAD 2004 will cater for land forces as well as maritime technology. All arms of service will thus be catered for at AAD 2004. Apart from static displays, a number of practical demonstrations together with live firing exercises are being planned to coincide with the three trade days on 21 - 23 September 2004.

Niche sectors are to be incorporated with AAD 2004 to cover freight and cargo, search and rescue, humanitarian and disaster management together with related services for both civilian and defence applications.

The officially appointed organisers of this prestigious event, Kagiso Exhibitions, is confident that AAD 2004 will again prove to be even bigger and better than previously as it will create the opportunity to exhibit, demonstrate and meet many role players and decision makers from all over the world. AAD 2004 will be the most comprehensive civil and military aerospace and defence-related exposition held on the African continent.

The visitor profile will comprise of a high number of foreign delegations, diplomats, industrialists and captains of industry, representatives of local and national governments.

Covering a full range of leading edge aerospace and defence-related equipment, services and technologies, AAD 2004 is being structured to highlight contemporary development to enhance not only trade objectives and opportunities, but to also assist the South African government in its NEPAD and African Union objectives.

The SA National Defence Force in increasingly becoming involved in peacekeeping operations on the African continent and South Africa needs to position itself to support these governments and internationally backed initiatives.

AAD 2004 will be the ideal venue to netwrok and establish mutually beneficial trading agreements. More than 350 exhibitors are expected which will enable trade executives to expand its operations in the region and the African continent.

Two public days are set aside for 24 - 25 September 2004 during which a comprehensive flying display by leading air forces as well as commercial and sport aircraft will enthral the general public. A number of initiatives are currently addressed to ease the access routes to Waterkloof and to entertain members of the public with the best flying that the world has to offer.
