Dutch manufacturer Trikke Europe presents a brand new solution for effective patrolling: An easy to use three-wheel electric scooter with long range and low weight, which is also quickly stowed in any car.
For security services, the new special model "Trikke EV6 Security" is perfect, because rounds on spacious grounds will take only a fraction of the time compared to patrolling on foot. The new vehicle will be presented to the public for the first time in Essen this week.
The Trikke (pronounced Trike) is a great success in many countries. So far the use on German roads was prohibited due to the lack of approval. Recently the Trikke has been TUV approved and the firsts are riding around already. The launch of a new Trikke model on the German show is therefore ideal.
The vehicle from aircraft aluminium weighs only 22 kg. It can therefore be easily carried up a flight of stairs, it can ride in the elevator, on an escalator and can be folded like an umbrella with two handles to be transported in a car over longer distances to other locations. The driver has both feet firmly on the foot platforms above the rear wheels. The throttle and brakes are like a Scooter/Moped, which is - unlike other vehicle concepts - very easy and intuitive to ride. Up to 25 km / h with a range of up to 35 km. Around 10cts of electricity costs has been calculated by the manufacturer.
An LCD cockpit informs the rider about all operating modes. And within 5 hours, the battery is charged at any electrical outlet - it is removable, so that the patrolling officer can use the Trikke practically around the clock. The EV6 is supplied complete with street lighting including mirror and flashlight, siren and Security optics. Individual customization is possible.
