US MARINE CORPS SELECTS THE SELEX HALO SYSTEM

SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) is honoured that the United States Marine Corps has selected HALO (Hostile Artillery Location System) for immediate fielding of 10 systems and associated spares, training and logistics support under a competitively awarded firm fixed price contract to fulfil their urgent needs requirement for ground counter fire sensor systems.

HALO is an autonomous system that will provide highly accurate location of indirect fire systems, explosive detonations, and heavy direct fire weapons. It is the pre-eminent rapid deployment system producing real time, target locations with the unparalleled accuracy required for effective counter fire.

HALO is currently in service with the British Army.

Work will be carried out by SELEX S&AS at its facilities in Basildon, Essex, UK. The contract contains options that , when exercised, have a total cumulative value in excess of $US30 million.
