Morpho Receives U.S. Government Agency Order for Itemiser DX detectors valued at more than $5M

Morpho Detection has announced an order for Itemiser® DX explosives trace detectors (ETD) valued at over $5 million.

Purchased by a U.S. government agency, Itemiser DX will be used to screen people and materials for explosives at installations around the world. Under terms of the contract, Morpho Detection will provide rapid response and preventative maintenance services to ensure peak performance and maximum uptime. A lightweight, portable desktop system, Itemiser DX can detect traces of explosives on skin, clothing, carried items, bags, vehicles and other surfaces.

"By non-invasively detecting and identifying traces of explosives on a variety of surfaces, Itemiser ETD play an important and growing role in the security screening process," said Karen Bomba, president and CEO, Morpho Detection. "From government agencies and airports, to air cargo carriers and law enforcement, organizations of all sizes and security needs are recognizing the importance of integrating advanced trace technology into the security screening process."

Currently approved by seven global regulatory agencies, more than 5,000 Itemiser DX units have been deployed to airport checkpoints, checked baggage and air cargo screening facilities, critical infrastructure and secure locations around the world.
