Organization for Security & Co-operation in Europe supports World Border Security Congress

 

The organisers of World Border Security Congress have announced the support of the Organization for Security & Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for next year’s World Border Security Congress in Madrid, from the 20th-22nd March 2018.

The OSCE is the world's largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization and has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. Its mandate includes issues such as border security, arms control, THB and illicit goods, promotion of human rights, freedom of the press, and fair elections.

They also announced that Rasa Ostrauskaite, Director of the Transnational Threats Department, will give an opening keynote and the organization will be hosting one of the Closed Agency Workshops on ‘Challenges in the Mediterranean’.

Conference Chairman John Donlon QPM said “We are delighted to once again be working with and have the support of the OSCE who do so much great important work in ensuring that that our borders are both open and secure”

World Border Security Congress will be held in Madrid, Spain from the 20th-22nd March 2018.

The World Border Security Congress is a high level 3-day event that will discuss and debate current and future policies, implementation issues and challenges as well as new and developing technologies that contribute towards safe and secure border and migration management.
