Once again Veridos provides the Munich Security Conference with innovative authentication technology
Veridos VeriGO® eAccess solution will once again be utilized at the Munich Security Conference (MSC). The MSC is a top-level conference where key decision makers from the global security community congregate in Munich, Germany, annually. For a second time, Veridos will supply innovative walk-through portals and software that will verify the visitor's identity via on-the-move authentication.
Each year, government officials, leaders, and thinkers gather to discuss methods to adapt to growing international security threats and challenges. To achieve the goal of providing a secure and safe environment to permit this assembly, Veridos will deploy the VeriGO® eAccess solution again at the event. This technology verifies participants quickly and conveniently. Through advanced biometric facial recognition technology, provided by Veridos, the identity of the badge holder is immediately verified when they walk through the portal.
The access cards, produced by Giesecke+Devrient, a parent company of Veridos, are made of advanced material combined with security features and are equipped with high-security chips, which can be read at a distance of several meters while simultaneously being able to protect the privacy of the cardholder. Additionally, verification of the badges can be supported by scanning high-security short-range chips with specialized handheld RFID readers and smartphones, thus enabling security personnel to manually verify the participant if necessary. The security and communication chipsets are supplied by European semiconductor specialist, NXP Semiconductors.
Dr. Benedikt Franke, COO of the MSC, stated: "We are excited to have Veridos eAccess solution for the secure and convenient authentication of thousands of MSC 2020 participants. Last year, verification times were greatly reduced and traffic moved more efficiently. We look forward to this sustained partnership and continued implementation of this technology. "
Frank Schmalz, Vice President of Innovation at Veridos, commented: "Implemented for the second year, the state-of-the-art VeriGO® eAccess technology enables authorized devices to read high-security contactless chips even over long distances of several meters. Our solution is based on secure ultra-high frequency RFID and can be introduced in any situation that requires reliable and fast access control."
"We are proud that our innovative contactless solutions have been selected once again to grant secure access to the world's leading security event. Powering smart city applications in hundreds of cities worldwide, our RFID chips combine high security features with convenience, making it a great choice for the Munich Security Conference", says Philippe Dubois, Vice President General Manager IoT Security, NXP Semiconductors.
