Introducing New Kevlar® XPâ„¢ with More Bullet Stopping Power
Today, DuPont announces the introduction of an exciting new technology for law enforcement - Kevlar® XPâ„¢.
DuPontâ„¢ Kevlar® XPâ„¢ is the next generation of patented woven fabrics which provide both ballistic and trauma protection in a lightweight, 100% Kevlar® solution.
Tests show that Kevlar® XPâ„¢ typically stops bullets within the first three layers of a vest designed with a total of 11 layers. The remaining layers of Kevlar® XPâ„¢ absorb the energy of the bullet, resulting in less trauma to the vest wearer. In fact, Kevlar® XPâ„¢ provides approximately 15% lower backface deformation plus ballistic performance that meets NIJ IIIA standards. Kevlar® XPâ„¢ also allows more comfortable vest designs with 10% or greater weight reduction providing officers with freedom of movement in the field.
