Sepura wins further contract in Beijing to support Olympic Games

Sepura has won an additional order to supply TETRA radios to the Beijing Police for use during the Olympic Games and beyond.

This order follows a total of 2000 units that are already used by the police and a further 6000 which are benefiting communications within other Beijing Government agencies, as Sepura continues to strengthen its market position in China.

The contract with the Beijing Police is for SRH3800 Hand-held radios that operate on a 350MHz radio frequency band.

Kevin Graham, Sepura's Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, said: "This is another highly encouraging sales win for Sepura, to continue our progress in China."

Recently, Sepura became the first major TETRA terminal supplier to manufacture in China through its partner, Tianjin 712 Communication and Broadcasting, as well as establishing a Warranty and After Sales Service Centre, to serve all Sepura partners and end-users in China.

Along with Sepura's sales team, based at its office in Beijing, the new manufacturing and product support centre provides locally-made products, local customisation and a local repair service for customers in China.
