Sepura wins another airport contract in India
Sepura has won a further contract in India at the new Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, to supply TETRA radios for secure voice and data communications.
Hyderabad is the only international airport in India's fourth largest state of Andhra Pradesh, which has a population of 75 million.
This order follows a recent sales win at Bangalore, another of the sub-continent's new, purpose-built airports. Both contracts were secured by Nokia Siemens Networks, a Sepura partner and distributor in India.
Most services within the airport will benefit, such as baggage handling, fuel supply, maintenance, catering, immigration, customs and security. The radios will also integrate with other IT and communication systems within the airport.
The contract provides Sepura's SRH3500 Hand-held and SRM3500 Vehicle radios. The 10watts of transmitter power from the SRM3500 extends the range of coverage when airport vehicles need to go beyond the far reaches of the airport.
