Sepura wins Government agency contract in Beijing

Sepura has won a major contract in China to supply TETRA digital radios to the Beijing Administration of Industry and Commerce Bureau, which regulates fair trading practices.

The order was secured by Beijing Shouke Software and System Integration, one of Sepura's partners, to supply a total of 2160 radios, including SRH3800 sGPSâ„¢ Hand-held and SRG3500 Gateway vehicle radios.

The Beijing bureau is the Government body that oversees business practices. It investigates illegal trade, unfair competition, smuggled goods, distribution of fake or substandard goods and protection of consumers' rights and interests.

Sepura radios will help coordinate operations between Bureau officers and other TETRA users, particularly police and customs. Sepura's radio Gateway functionality ensures that communications can be maintained beyond the normal reach of the network and in areas of poor reception.

Kevin Graham, Sepura's Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, said: "This is a prestigious sales win for Sepura, which was achieved via a competitive tender through the expertise of BSSSI, our distribution partner. The user was also encouraged by Sepura's move to manufacture radios for the Chinese market in China."

Zeng Chun Ping, General Manager of Beijing Shouke Software and System Integration, said: "The bureau wanted robust radios that would give them first-class capability and functionality, to handle investigations which are often highly contentious and sensitive."
