Sepura wins another major contract in Hungary

Sepura has won a contract to supply TETRA digital radios to the Hungarian Disaster Management Agency. This sales win comes after other recent successes across Eastern Europe, including Russia, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Slovenia.

Over 5300 radios have been supplied, including SRH3800 and SRH3800 sGPS hand-held radios and SRG3500 vehicle-based radios, following the re-structuring and modernising of the country's fire service under the banner of the Hungarian Disaster Management Agency.

Kenneth Hubner, Sepura's Regional Sales Director for Northern and Central Europe, said: "This is one of the biggest orders for a fire service achieved by Sepura, and further strengthens our market share in Hungary, on the back of earlier sales to the police, prison service and other public safety users."

"The performance of our products, coupled with our distributor's excellent service and support, gives complete customer satisfaction. The radios will help the Hungarian Disaster Management Agency in saving lives and in tackling emergencies more efficiently."

Sepura TETRA radios will give secure, instant and easy to use communication to assist the rapid response and handling of emergencies, as well as co-ordinating with other blue light services and utilities.

An important feature is the Gateway functionality in vehicle radios that ensures communication is maintained for both vehicle and hand-held radios, even in areas or buildings where network reception may be poor.

In addition, GPS in the radios is an important safety feature, enabling the control room to monitor at all times the precise location of fire engines and fire crew.

Dual consoles, which have been fitted in certain vehicles, enable a single radio to be operated from both the front and rear cabins. A further benefit is data transmission between firefighters, their mobile command centre and fixed control centre.
