IXSEA INS First Choice for Ifremer

IFREMER, the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea, has recently invested in a PHINS Inertial Navigation System (INS) for the refit of the ATALANTE.

IFREMER already owns 17 inertial systems and plans to equip all its vessels and underwater vehicles progressively with IXSEA systems, because of their high performance, ease of use and reliability. IXSEA navigation systems, which include PHINS, HYDRINS and OCTANS, are IMO certified and have an Ethernet link. They easily interface with other scientific equipment, for example the ultra deep multi-beam echo sounders which are an integral part of oceanographic boats.

"IXSEA is proud of its longstanding association with IFREMER, especially with IXSEA's profound interest in the exploration and protection of the sea," Emal Zbidi, Sales Engineer, IXSEA.
