Seville International Airport joins growing list of Sepura users

Seville International Airport, part of the AENA group, has just become Sepura's latest customer in Spain. Sepura's range of robust hand-held radios have proven popular with many leading aviation players including Air France, Hannover International Airport and Granada International Airport, also part of the AENA group.

Airports are fast moving, potentially hazardous environments that provide a tough test for communications systems. Sepura was introduced by Telvent, The Global IT Company, who also provides their own TetraNode infrastructure to Seville Airport.

Sepura proactively responds to the needs of customers in different sectors. The latest software release for its terminals includes enhancements that increase the integration between the TETRA network and existing airport systems, including the telephone network. This integration helps the airport management to deploy staff more efficiently, reducing turnaround times and improving customer service. It also speeds user acceptance, reducing the time taken to realise productivity gains and increasing the return on investment.

The Sepura terminals are very popular with Seville's users. Jose Antonio Garcia Elena Airport Maintenance Manager of Seville International comments: "The lightweight and compact Sepura terminals offer better voice quality than the old analogue terminals that they've replaced" in fact it@s comparable with the telephone system, so it was easy to convince the airport's personnel to change.

Emanuele Algieri, Sepura's Southern Europe Regional Director, commented: "This contract confirms that Sepura radios are the preferred choice among Spanish TETRA users. Our enhanced functionality, reliability and responsiveness to customers, specific needs have won us a considerable percentage of the Spanish TETRA market. Seville is one of Spain's fast growing airports, having increased their passenger numbers by 32% in the last year*. The flexibility that Sepura offers will help support this growth."
